Where have I been, you ask?

I recently had a rare opportunity to participate in an amazing program, ILEAD U. Follow this link to learn more about ILEAD U Illinois. While project manager for a team of five librarians, each from a different institution and representative of three library types, I learned a tremendous amount about the game development process, as did the other members. Our team, UrInfo, will be presenting at the Annual Information Literacy Summit at Illinois State University on April 30, 2012.

Due to the shared leadership philosophy, we each: learned how to moderate an online, interactive meeting; were responsible for developing and coding our section of the game; explored new technologies to expand our productivity and presentation repertoires; and so much more.  This transformation occurred over a nine month duration, yet it continues. Our team meets in-person, as well as electronically to further our project. The goal is to create and launch an interactive tool for information literacy targeting adolescence through the remaining lifelong learning career. We all have accomplished while working full-time and life commitments. Watch for our game. We anticipate launching soon and hope to make it an app!
